Rivera served as the New York Mets’ short-season hitting coordinator for the past two seasons.  He played six years in the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs organizations.  He played in Binghamton in the 2007 season and hit .316 in 18 games.  He advanced to Triple-A in 2009 seeing duty in 46 games in Buffalo.  He replaces Luis Natera who was added as an assistant hitting coach for New York.

Griffin spent the past two seasons working with the Mets’ Savannah Sand Gnats in Low-A baseball.  Prior to that he was a member of the Oakland Raiders strength and conditioning staff.  Griffin replaces Jake Henderson on the B-Mets staff.

The B-Mets open the 2014 season next Thursday night at 6:35 when they host the Akron RubberDucks at NYSEG Stadium.
