A couple operating a medical transportation company in the Binghamton area is accused of bilking Medicaid for over $1.3 million.

The New York State Inspector General’s office says 68 year old Kenneth Cohn and 64 year old Sharon Cohn of Binghamton, who own Yellow Medi-Van Taxi Incorporated, have been arraigned on grand larceny and other charges in connection with accusations that they failed to provide workers compensation coverage to employees, falsely reported to Broome County taxi license regulators that they had coverage and received Medicaid payments for transporting beneficiaries whether they did or not without proper licensing between June 2012 and January 2014.

Prosecutors say they plan to offer the husband and wife a plea deal.
