A suspect in a Broome County heroin distribution network is expected to be sentenced to state prison under a plea deal.

Prosecutors say 35-year-old David Mikulski of Binghamton pleaded guilty on Thursday to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony.

Mikulski, who police said lived on Glenwood Avenue in the First Ward, admitted his involvement in a drug-selling organization purportedly overseen by Terrence Wise.

Investigators said between April and July, Mikulski helped to operate the trafficking network with heroin sales of more than $100,000.

Mikulski is to receive a sentence of eight years in prison under the agreement. He also would face three years on parole after serving the prison time.

Sentencing has been scheduled for January 12.

Four men and three women were arrested by local police agencies during morning raids in Binghamton, Endicott and Endwell on July 28.
