22-year-old Trevis Johnson has been sentenced to 19 years in prison for killing a Binghamton man in an apartment building on the city's West Side.

Johnson had pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in September in connection with the death of 27-year-old Sergio Beldo.

Police said Beldo was fatally shot on October 4, 2014. His body was found in the doorway of a second-floor apartment at 30 Mather Street.

Broome County Court Judge Martin Smith called Johnson a "cold-blooded killer" as he sentenced him on Tuesday.

Authorities have said they believed other people were involved in the attempted robbery of Beldo that ended in his death.

At the time, Binghamton police chief Joseph Zikuski said he expected more arrests would be made. He said at least three people had been seen fleeing in a vehicle following the shooting.
