A Binghamton man could spend the rest of his life in prison for killing a teenager at the Town and Country Apartments at a 4th of July party in 2014.

23 year old Andre Lee was sentenced February 21 to 25 years to life in prison for the fatal shooting of 19 year old Scott Wright Junior.

Wright was shot outside the Roberts Street apartment building and transported to a local hospital where he died three days later.

Lee was convicted of murder and other counts last summer.  The jury deliberated 9 hours before handing down the verdict.

During the proceedings, neither side disputed whether Lee shot Wright in the stomach, causing fatal injury.  The argument surrounded whether Lee intended to kill Wright after being teased at a 4th of July party.  If it was determined, as Lee claimed, that the shooting was unintentional, there was a possibility of a reduced charge of manslaughter.
