A man who resides near Binghamton High School faces two felony weapon possession counts after police confiscated a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

Authorities say 31-year-old Dennis Page of Chapel Place was found to be in possession of the defaced gun during a traffic stop.

According to the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force, the nine-millimeter handgun had been defaced.

Officials say the task force was assisted by the Binghamton police Community Response Team in stopping Page at Court and Fayette streets downtown.

Investigators say Page was charged with two separate weapon possession counts. One charge was for possession of the loaded gun and the second was because the weapon had been defaced, which is illegal.

Page was arraigned in Binghamton city court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
