Binghamton police say an arrest has been made in connection with a First Ward home invasion investigation.

Authorities say 20-year-old Marlon Singleton was charged Thursday with first-degree burglary.

Singleton is a suspect in an early morning incident on June 25 at 3 Downs Avenue.

Two women who live in part of the duplex were frightened by an intruder who was said to have fired a gun at least twice. No injuries were reported.

A SWAT team was deployed because police believed the suspect may have been inside the house. After a search, they determined the culprit had fled.

Singleton was arraigned in Binghamton city court and then was sent to Broome County Jail.

Police say they are continuing to investigate the incident. People with information may contact the detective division at 607.772.7080.
