A Binghamton man is being charged with felony grand larceny after he allegedly removed about 8,000 pounds of metal tire rims and other metal parts over several weeks from a Conklin business. The value of the stolen items has been put at around $15,000.

The victim informed the Broome County Sheriff’s office that he had located some of the missing rims and parts at a local scrap yard.

20 year old Dustin Tran reportedly was pulling into a scrap yard with additional stolen items while the Broome County Sheriff Deputy investigating the theft was at the yard.

Tran was detained and questioned at the scrap yard, then taken into custody.

He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment to await further court action.
