A Binghamton man is accused of trying to flush heroin and crack cocaine down a toilet when members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force arrived at his Schubert Street home for an investigation.

27 year old Allen Alfred is charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, two felony counts of evidence tampering, two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia, one count of criminally possessing a hypodermic and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Authorities say as detectives made entry into the building, Alfred was seen trying to put the drugs in the toilet.  Some of the heroin and crack were recovered from the fixture.

Police say a search of the home turned up five knotted plastic wraps containing crack cocaine, 161 wax envelopes containing heroin, 14 hypodermic needles, a small amount of marijuana, a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia.
