Broome County Sheriff’s officials say they found methamphetamine in a vehicle after stopping a Binghamton man for driving while using a portable electronic device at around 1:45 p.m. October 23.

Officials say they then discovered 24 year old Joseph Losito had a suspended driver’s license for failing to answer a summons to Binghamton City Court.

During the roadside investigation, Deputies say they found over two pounds of an off-white, chunky substance that tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Authorities also seized about $1,500 cash.

Losito is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a violation of use of a portable electronic device while driving.

He was sent to the Broome County Jail to await further court action.
