Binghamton Man Accused of Copper Theft From Flood Homes

Vestal police are announcing the arrest of a Binghamton man in connection with recent thefts of copper pipes from homes in the Twin Orchards neighborod that were flooded in September of last year.

26 year old Mikhael Bugayov is charged with felony burglary and has admitted to illegally entering at least ten homes and stealing copper pipes.

Police say they don’t believe Bugayov acted alone and are continuing their investigation.

Officials say Bugayov will be facing more charges and more arrests are expected.

Anyone with information is ask to call Vestal police detectives at (607) 754-2477.

Bugayov was also arraigned in connection with an unrelated burglary in Johnson City where a home was entered and items taken.
