A Binghamton man faces several charges after he allegedly attacked a woman in her apartment.

Authorities say 21-year-old Michael Brown Jr. was arrested Thursday after the early-morning incident in Johnson City.

Village police say Brown was charged with felony counts of burglary, criminal mischief and aggravated family offense. He also was charged with assault and criminal possession of stolen property.

Investigators say a woman could be heard crying during a 911 call that was received around 12:20 a.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived at the woman's Grand Avenue apartment, the woman said Brown, her former boyfriend, had entered uninvited and punched her in the face and back. She said Brown also damaged property in the apartment.

The woman was treated at Wilson Medical Center for injuries she sustained from being punched in the eye.

Brown was arraigned in Johnson City village court and sent to Broome County Jail.
