A $60 million renovation project at the Binghamton/Johnson City Joint Sewage Treatment Plant is due to get started in a little less than a year.

Johnson City and City of Binghamton officials met May 13th to discuss construction plans for the jointly owned facility on Vestal Road.

In addition to the renovation, the rehabilitation of the plant's digester unit, which was damaged in the 2011 flood, is due to start in September. That project is expected to cost anywhere from $2 million to $5 million.
