The Binghamton/ Johnson City Joint Sewage Treatment Plant is finally getting federal funding officials applied for following heavy flood damage in 2006.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is allocating $4.3 million.

The Vestal Road plant sustained additional damage in the September, 2011 flood.

The plant's board is currently evaluating where to direct the funds and say some of the money could also be applied to the on-going repairs from the 2011 disaster.

Officials say the plant is still not fully operational.
