The mayors of Binghamton, Johnson City and Endicott plan to meet to talk about what specific projects to target with $20 million in New York State development money.

Governor Andrew Cuomo appeared in Johnson City August 2 to announce the funding under the “Southern Tier Soaring” initiative.

The Downtown Endicott Business Association planned an announcement concerning ‘shovel-ready’ projects including plans for a high-tech medical company development as well as support for the production of the “Invisible Blanket” by MicroEnvironmental Incorporated that has been approved recently as a class three medical device as part of the development initiative.

The City of Binghamton has been enjoying a number of technology development projects recently including a business incubator and work is currently underway on Binghamton University’s new Pharmacy School, facilities for the Decker School of Nursing and a mixed use housing/retail development in old Endicott Johnson buildings in Johnson City.
