Drivers should expect another traffic pattern change in the Prospect Mountain Project workzone in Binghamton.

The new traffic pattern is scheduled for Thursday.

State transportation officials say eastbound traffic on Route 17 heading to Interstate 81 North will be diverted from the left lane to a single lane connector ramp.

The connector will join Interstate 81 near the Front Street/SUNY Broome exit. The split from Route 17 East to Interstate 81 North will move west to the section of highway that carries Route 17 over Mygatt Street.

Eastbound drivers on Route 17 who wish to head to Interstate 81 South will continue past the northbound connector ramp with two travel lanes.

Traffic over the Chenango River bridges will merge to one lane near Exit 72. That single lane will continue over the bridges and join Interstate 81 South near the Binghamton/Hillcrest exit.
