Binghamton Hydrant Flushing Begins

Bob Joseph/WNBF News
Bob Joseph/WNBF News

The semi-annual fire hydrant flushing in the City of Binghamton is underway.

Workers with the City Water Department April 25 began opening up hydrants and testing the systems.

Hydrant flushing will be taking place through Thursday, April 28 from 7 to 11 p.m.

Residents may experience low water pressure at times but the water remains safe for use.

Still, City water customers should check their cold water before using it and run the tap for a short time to clear any discoloration.
