An estimated 1500 people enjoyed a free Thanksgiving dinner as Binghamton High School students held their 18th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner in the High School cafeteria today.

National Honor Society President and Chairman of the Dinner Esteban Doyle says over 200 volunteers donated their time to make it an enjoyable day for others.  The annual project is staffed by Binghamton High School students, teachers and other staff members.

Students hold various fund-raisers during the year to help offset the costs of the meal.  The dinner is designed to give people the opportunity to enjoy a complete meal regardless of their income.

Those in attendance were in a festive mood with some remaining after the dinner to speak with family and friends.  Something new added this year was shuttle bus service from several Binghamton locations enabling those without transportation to get to and from the high school.
