Preparations are already underway for the 18th annual free community Thanksgiving dinner at Binghamton High School on Thanksgiving day.

Speaking on the October 20th edition of the Southern Tier Close Up,  B.H.S. senior and president of the National Honor Society, Esteban Doyle and the director of special events in the Binghamton City School District, Lawrence Kassan said a few changes are planned for this year.

Two dining rooms are going to be open and shuttle buses will run about every 10 minutes with four stops around the City of Binghamton. In addition, meals will no longer be delivered to residents.

Kassan says organizers wanted to get more people to the meal at the school so they can enjoy the experience of coming together as a community.

The dinner November 22nd is free and open to everyone, regardless of their income or background.

Dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone with questions about the shuttle service or who would like information on donating to the effort can call Lawrence Kassan at (607) 762-8202.
