Binghamton firefighters continue to keep a watchful eye on the rubble that remains after a spectacular fire broke out in the former Pa's Woodshed location on Montgomery Street on the Eastside of Binghamton.  The blaze was reported shortly before 1030 last night and continued through the morning hours this morning.

No injuries were reported in the fire that wiped out three attached warehouses and a loading dock.  Firefighters had considered clearing the neighborhood, however, that did not have to be done.

Due to the intensity of the blaze, poor access and just one operational fire hydrant available near the fire, firefighters had to take a defensive position and concentrate on keeping the fire from further spreading.  The cause of the fire continues under investigation.
