The Binghamton Farm Share Around the Corner program is up and running.

The program provides fresh produce for families in the city who subscribe for a weekly share at an affordable price.

The pilot program is funded by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, Healthy Urban Food Enterprise Development Center and the City of Binghamton Community Development Block Grant.

Farm Share is starting with four neighborhood distribution programs and will operate through October.  The first distribution was held June 28th at 3 p.m. on the North Side.  Farm shares will be available at the Roosevelt Elementary School, Carlisle Apartments and Tabernacle United Methodist Church on Fridays, late afternoon to early evenings. Wednesdays the program will operate at the Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network.

The program is able to allow purchases using SNAP benefits and using an EBT card in payment.

Residents interested in participating can call (607) 238-3522. Information about the program is available at www.facebook.com/BinghamtonFarmShare.
