Eric Denk of the Downtown Binghamton Farmers' Market is the guest on the May 23 edition of the weekly local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up.

Denk discusses the history of the market that sets up each summer next to the Broome County Courthouse green, how the market has grown and how its changed over the year in relation to products that are offered.

With the increase in residential properties downtown, Denk says there is even more demand for locally-sourced, fresh and healthy food and a growing interest by consumers in knowing where their food comes from.

The farmers' market operates Tuesdays and Fridays from June through October.
