Binghamton Dollar General Robbery Not Believed to Be Related to Others
City of Binghamton Police are investigating a robbery at a First Ward Store.
Police say the Dollar General store on Clinton Street was held up at around noon December 18th by a man indicating he had a gun.
Officials say they do not believe the latest roggery was related to a string of recent knifepoint holdups.
The suspect in the Wednesday robbery is believed to be white, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with his face covered by a purple and white scarf.
Investigators say the man fled on foot west toward railroad tracks.
Over a dozen robberies over the past several weeks have involved a suspect entering a convenience store or Chinese restaurants and displaying a knife.
In most cases, the robber is described as a white man wearing a ski mask or scarf but there had been a couple incidents where the suspect was described as black.
