Following a test drive, of sorts, allowing food trucks to sell treats in Downtown Binghamton during the first fall concert on the Peace Stage on the Riverwalk recently, the city is now asking residents and people who visit and work in Binghamton if the arrangement should be made more permanent.

The city is taking input in an online survey through the city clerk's office, asking about the possibility of issuing permits for mobile food vendors.

The food truck idea has been discussed for several years without moving forward.

A pilot proposal from the city's Office of Economic Development would designate areas on Exchange, South Washington and Stewart Streets for food truck vendors.

The survey is available by clicking on the city clerk's page at the City of Binghamton's official website: www.cityofbinghamton.com.
