Binghamton City officials are a little disappointed with the amount of money coming in from a discount program to allow parking ticket scofflaws to settle up.

Mayor Richard David announced during the month of September, people who owed back parking fines could take 25% off their total.

David says about $55,000 on 1,500 parking tickets was sent in for the month.

In August, the Republican said there were 19,433 unpaid tickets totaling about a million dollars.  Some tickets dated back to 2005.

The mayor is moving forward with plans to publish the names of the people who still owe and the amount of their outstanding tickets but still needs permission from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles to publish those names.

The City has also been discussing hiring a collection agency to recoup the ticket fines, penalties and late fees.
