Binghamton Casino License Attempt Moving Forward

A second casino bid for the area seems imminent.

Binghamton City Council is holding a special business meeting to consider a resolution to support a casino at the Stow Manufacturing site.

Tioga Downs had already publicly announced plans for a casino resort in Nichols after losing out in the original bidding process for a full-service casino license.

Owner Jeff Gural had expressed doubt that another developer would have enough time to get plans together and approved by necessary governments and agencies as well as comments from residents and businesses in the region.

The deadline for submitting a Southern Tier casino application to the New York State Gaming Commission is July 8.
