New York State is recording its lowest unemployment level since November of 2007 at 4.8%.  But the news is not so good for the Binghamton Labor Market.

Binghamton lost 1,700 private-sector, non-farm jobs and 1,600 government jobs according to the November job numbers.

Between November of 2014 and last month, four metro areas in New York State: Binghamton, Dutchess-Putnam, Ithaca and Elmira lost private sector jobs with Dutchess recording the biggest drop at -2.7%.

Across the state, job gains were highest for the Educational and Health Services sector, Construction, Professional and Business Services and Leisure and Hospitality.
