Binghamton Bearcats Women’s Basketball Team Faces Syracuse Saturday
The Binghamton Bearcats women’s basketball team faces a stiff test on Saturday as they travel to Syracuse to meet the Orange at the Carrier Dome at 1 PM (1250 on News Radio 1290 WNBF). Syracuse is 9 – 1 with their only loss at Temple. The Bearcats are 1-9 with the lone victory at the University at Buffalo.
The Orange is led in scoring by Kayla Alexandra who averages 21 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. BU is paced by Jasbriell Swain with 10.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game and Sharae Swinson with 9.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.
Coach Nicole Scholl spoke with Bearcats’ women’s radio voice Tim Heiman last night on the Horizons Federal Credit Union/Bearcats Hoop Talk show at the Riverwalk Bistro. She
says size is a big factor in Saturday’s contest. Syracuse has excellent size led by 6-4 Alexandra.
Saturday’s game is the last game before the Christmas holiday. The Bearcats travel to Lehigh to play on Saturday December 29 at 430 PM. BU will not play at home until Wednesday, January 2 at 7 PM when they open America East play vs the Hartford Hawks at 7 PM.
