The Binghamton Bearcats Women's basketball team meets the Hartford Hawks in the first game of the America East Tournament at SEFCU Arena in Albany Friday at Noon (11:50 AM on 1360 AM WYOS).  The Bearcats and Hawks split their regular season series with each winning at home.

In the Events Center the Bearcats topped the Hawks 46-44.  Jasbriell Swain led the Bearcats with 8 points and 16 rebounds.  At the Chase Family Arena the Hawks rolled to a 65-50 victory.  Vaneeshia Paulk score 11 points to pace BU.

Binghamton will rely on its top two scorers to pace the way.  Sherae Swinson is averaging 10.2 points per game and Jasbriell Swain has scored at an 8.3 points per game clip.  Swain also paces the Bearcats in rebounding with 8.4 per game.

The Bearcats secured the number seven seed in the tournament with a record in AE play of 5-11.  Hartford is the second seed and earned a10-6 slate during conference play.
