Binghamton Bearcats Travel to Ithaca to Meet Big Red in Women’s Basketball

The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team hopes the success they have had in recent seasons playing Cornell in Ithaca continues tonight.  BU travels to meet the Big Red tonight at 7 PM.  The Bearcats have defeated Cornell the last four times they have met at Cornell.

Binghamton won its first game of the season last weekend when it defeated the host team in the University of New Mexico Thanksgiving Invitational in Albuquerque.  Arkansas then defeated the Bearcats in the championship game of the tournament the following night,

BU comes into tonight's contest with a 1-5 slate while the Big Red are 4-3.  For the Bearcats Sherae Swinson paces the team in scoring averaging 11.8 points per game.  Kandace Newrie tops BU in rebounding averaging 5.3 boards per contest.

In the last meeting between these two teams Cornell defeated the Bearcats 60-56 at the Events Center.  Overall the Bearcats hold an 8-5 advantage in the series.

Tonight's game will be broadcast on ESPN 1360 AM with Tim Heiman providing the play-by-play coverage.  Airtime is set for 6:45.  Following tonight's game the Bearcats host St. Bonaventure at 2 PM on Saturday,
