It was a good day for the Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team at the Events Center in Vestal.  The Bearcats topped Bryant University 67-62 for their third victory of the season and first against the Bulldogs in four meetings.  Sophomore standout Jordan Reed led the Bearcats with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  Point-guard Marlon Beck also notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.  With the loss the Bulldogs drop to 7-7 while BU moves to 3-9.

It was senior guard Rayner Moquete who stole the show and the game for the Bearcats.  Moquete did not get medical clearance to play in the game until just minutes before tip-off.  He had been sidelined for the past week with a fractured finger but that did not stop him today. Short three regulars due to injury Moquete saw 28 minutes of action and responded with 12 points and eight rebounds.  But it was his free throws that iced the win for BU.  Moquete was fouled attempting a three-point shot by Bulldog forward Alex Francis with 32 seconds left in the game and the Bearcats up 61-60.  Moquete nailed all three foul shots to up the lead to 64-60 and force Bryant into a couple of missed three-point attempts in the remaining seconds.

Alex Ogundadegbe, Rob Mansell and Yosef Yacob all missed the entire game due to injuries.  Guard Karon Waller started his second consecutive game and scored six points in 15 minutes on the court.

The Bearcats have one remaining non-conference game.  They travel to Philadelphia to meet St. Joseph's on Tuesday afternoon at 2 PM.  Airtime at 1:45 on ESPN 1360 AM WYOS.  The Bearcats open up America East play next Sunday, January 5th at 4:30 versus the Maine Black Bears in Orono.
