Both Binghamton Bearcats basketball teams are on the road today in non-conference action.  The BU women are playing at Rider this afternoon in a 1 o'clock start.  Tonight the men's team plays at Monmouth University at 7.  Both games can be heard on News Radio 1290 WNBF.

The Broncs are 2-5 while the Bearcats come in with a mark of 1-8.  These  teams have met on two previous occasions with each winning one contest.  The Broncs haven't played in 13 days while the Bearcats last outing was a loss to Princeton at the Events Center on Wednesday night.

The BU men meet the Hawks tonight and face a  King Rice-coached team.  Rice, a former Binghamton High School standout who went on to star at the University of North Carolina, is in his third season as the head coach of the Hawks.  Last season at the Events Center Rice and his team earned a 77-65 victory over the Bearcats.

Monmouth is 4-6 and is led by Deon Jones who is averaging 18.6 points per game.  Andrew Nicholas is also notching double figures with a 14.6 average.  For the Bearcats standout Jordan Reed leads the way with 16.6 points per game and a 26 point outing at the Carrier Dome last Saturday against Syracuse.
