Binghamton Bearcats Look For Big Things in NCAA Tournament

The Binghamton Bearcats face Oklahoma State in the opening game for both teams in the NCAA Regional Baseball Tournament in Stillwater, Oklahoma tomorrow night at 7 PM Eastern time.  BU won the America East Championship on Sunday defeating the top-seeded Stony Brook Seawolves 8-7.  The Cowboys were the Big 12 regular season champions and come in ranked 10th in the nation.

The Bearcats are 25-25 with Oklahoma State coming into the tournament at 45-16.  In the Stilwater Regional along with the Bearcats and Cowboys are two additional top-25 teams.  Cal State Fullerton is ranked 22nd with Nebraska ranked 24th.

Binghamton is 1-4 in previous NCAA Division I tournament competition.  The Bearcats win came against George Mason in 2009.  Losses have come against East Carolina (twice), North Carolina Ste and Ole Miss.

Regionals are double-elimination formats.  There are 16 regionals around the country with four teams in each regional.  The 68th Men's College World Series will begin play June 14 in Omaha, Nebraska.
