The Binghamton Bearcats and New Hampshire Wildcats tangle in men's basketball tonight at the Events Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM (airtime at 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF). Both teams are hungry for a victory.  The Bearcats dropped their America East Conference opener in Maine on Sunday.  The Wildcats fell to Brown Tuesday in their last outing. Both teams are 0-1 in America East competition.

Binghamton has the edge in the all-time series with a record of 15-10 but New Hampshire has picked up wins in the last five outings.  In the last battle between the two teams New Hampshire emerged with a 68-56 victory in Durham.  Jordan Reed was Binghamton's standout with 24 points and 16 rebounds.

The Bearcats received some bad news earlier in the week when it was learned that redshirt junior guard Rob Mansell's knee injury was more serious than originally thought.  Upon further examination it was determined that Mansell needs season-ending knee surgery.  He has missed the last six games and is coming off of knee surgery on his left knee that sidelined him all of last season.  The current injury is to the right knee.  Mansell led the Bearcats in scoring in the 2011-12 season averaging over 14 points per game.
