Binghamton Bearcats Face The Best in America East Tonight In Albany

The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team faces the awesome task of battling the best team in America East tonight in Albany.  The Stony Brook Seawolves who finished the AE conference regular season with a 14-2 slate match-up against the number 8 seeded Bearcats at 6 PM at the University at Albany's SEFCU Arena in a quarter-final conference playoff game.

Stony Brook won both regular seasons games against the Bearcats posting wins of 62-37 and 73-47.  The two rivals met in last season's quarterfinal round in Hartford and the Seawolves won that battle 78-69.  Stony Brook leads the overall series 31-25 dating back to the SUNYAC days but since the two schools went to Division I status Binghamton holds an edge of 15-11.

If the Bearcats can knock off the Seawolves it would be just the third number 8 seed to KO a number one seed in AE tournament history.  A Bearcats win would send them to the America East semi-final round tomorrow also in Albany. Airtime is 5:50 PM tonight on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
