The Binghamton Bearcats are hoping to make an immediate statement when they meet The North Carolina State Wolfpack tomorrow night at 7 in the opening round of the Raleigh Regional in the NCAA Baseball Tournament.  NC State is ranked ninth in the nation.

The Bearcats are hoping to carryover a solid regular season finish and an America East Championship into success against one of the nation's premier baseball programs.  BU knocked out the Maine Black Bears...the regular season champions in America East to gain the automatic NCAA bid.

Ole Miss and William & Mary meet in the first game tomorrow at Doak Field at 2 PM.  Regional play is double-elimination.  A Binghamton win in the opening round would put the Bearcats into the 7 PM Saturday game.  A loss to the Wolfpack would mean a 2 PM contest for BU on Saturday.

Binghamton has made one other NCAA appearance.  In 2009 the Bearcats won the America East title and went 1-2 in the East Carolina Regional with a win over George Mason and 2 losses to East Carolina.  The Bearcats enter tomorrow's night's game with a record of 30-23.  This marks the third time BU has won 30 games over the past seven seasons..
