Binghamton University Basketball standout Imani Watkins has signed a contact to play professionally in Turkey.  Watkins, BU's all-time leading scorer will play in the Fiba Eurocup League with a still to be determined team.

In a press release from Binghamton University Athletics Watkins thanked those who helped her attain her goal of becoming a professional athlete.  "I'm thankful to everyone in my corner who believed in me and never let me doubt myself."

Watkins graduated as one of the school's all-time great athletes.  She established a new career scoring record with 2,125 points, earned three America East all-star selections and was named the Player of the Year in America East this past season.

While Watkins will join the professional ranks soon she follows in the footsteps of other Bearcat stars who went on to play abroad. Those include Watkins' Associate Head Coach Leah (Truncale) Bowers who played for two pro teams in Dublin, Ireland.  Bess Greenberg, whose all-time BU scoring record was broken by Watkins, played professionally in Denmark and Israel.  Sarah Cartmill is another former Bearcat star who went on to play professionally in both Ireland and Denmark.
