M&T Bank closed its office at Vestal and Park avenues more than a year ago.

The high-traffic location proved attractive to a local group which operates several Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in Broome and Susquehanna counties.

The group had been seeking an appropriate South Side site for several years.

Construction work to transform the former bank into a doughnut shop is nearing completion.

The new restaurant is expected to employ about 20 people with six to eight full-time workers.

The opening is scheduled for December 4.

The additional Dunkin' Donuts location is about to open following the recent closing of several Tim Hortons doughnut shops in upstate New York.
