From the office of Binghamton Mayor, Richard David:

In preparation for significant snowfall, city officials urge residents to clear streets and utilize off-street parking.
As major snow accumulations are expected, Mayor Richard C. David, and City of Binghamton public safety personnel urge all residents to remove vehicles off city streets until Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 5:00 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning. Total snowfall estimates have risen to 10-18 inches for Broome County.

While the city’s alternate side parking rules remain in effect, this extra measure will help snow plows and emergency crews keep both lanes clear during the impending winter storm. Residents are strongly encouraged to move vehicles off streets and into driveways, public garages or lots at city parks.

“In preparation for a potentially significant snowstorm, the city wants to be proactive as possible and asks for residents’ support to ensure public works crews are able to clear snow and salt roads as quickly and safely as possible,” said Mayor Richard C. David. “In addition, this measure will minimize cars getting covered or surrounded in snow as plows pass, with residents having to dig themselves out.”

Mayor David and public safety personnel thank all residents in advance for their cooperation.
