Binghamton Area Police Saluted

Police Week is underway in the region.  Observances began with an inter-denominational service at Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City May 1.

May 2, a motorcade of police vehicles was to travel from Binghamton University to the Binghamton Police Department beginning at 10:45 a.m. with the annual Police Golf Tournament at the Links at Hiawatha Landing on Wednesday, May 4 the annual Police Hockey Game at the Chenango Ice Rink Friday, May 6 and Oakdale Mall displays and demonstrations Saturday, May 7 completing the week.

Organizers say the events not only remember law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty but also recognize the work being done every day by the police.
