Binghamton Man Pleads Guilty of Raping a Child

Just over two weeks after being arrested and charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, a Binghamton man has admitted that he did in fact rape a child under the age of 13.

According to Broome County District Attorney Steven Cornwell, 37-year-old Chad Winans of Binghamton plead guilty in Broome County Court on March 17th and is set to be sentenced on May 10th. Winans will be handed a sentence of 17 ½ years in prison and the District Attorney’s Office states that Winans will also be given an additional ten years on parole.

New York State Police report that Winans was arrested on March 2nd, 2017, and charged with rape, criminal sexual act, aggravated sexual abuse or course of sexual conduct against a child under the age of 13.
