The Hershey Bears scored six second period goals and went on to defeat the Binghamton Senators 6-2 February 5 at the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.  Following a scoreless opening period the flood gates opened for the Bears.  The six Hershey goals tied an American Hockey League high for a single period this season.

The B-Sens got goals from Nick Paul and Kyle Flanagan in the third period for their only scores of the game.  Matt O'Connor was in goal for all of the Hershey tallies.  Chris Driedger took over in net for the third period.

Following the game forwards Nick Paul and Ryan Dzingel were recalled to Ottawa. It is the first promotion to Ottawa for Paul and the second recall of the season for Dzingel.

February 6 was Do It For Daron Power to the Purple night.  The Binghamton Senators have partnered with the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier to sponsor the night.  Founded in memory of 14 year-old Daron Richardson, daughter of B-Sens coach Luke Richardson, Do It For Daron Power to the Purple is designed to raise awareness of youth mental health issues.  At the age of 14 Daron committed suicide.Purple was her favorite color. In her honor fans were asked to wear purple to the game.
