The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team put up a good fight last night in their quarter-final playoff game against the Albany Great Danes.  But Albany showed why they went 15-1 to capture the regular season championship as they rolled to a 77-59 victory over the Bearcats.

Forward Sherae Swinson paced the Bearcats in scoring with 21 points and sophomore Morgan Murphy hit for double figures with 13 points.  Shereesha Richards and Imani Tate scored 18 points each for Albany.

Albany led 47-27 after the first half of play.  But BU battled back and scored eight consecutive points to start the second half to cut the margin to 47-35.  But Albany never relinquished the lead and used a 15-5 run to secure the win.

Depth was a big key as the Great Danes outscored the Bearcats off the bench 30-5. The Bearcats close their season at 5-25 while Albany moves to 26-4.  The Great Danes meet the Hartford Hawks tomorrow at 11:15 at the SEFCU Arena in a semi-final battle.
