Classic Rock fans can recall the 1968 hit song done by the Chambers Brothers "Time Has Come Today".  For Binghamton University's women's basketball team that time came Saturday, January 3.

The Bearcats made the shot that echoed around America East when freshman Imani Watkins scored a bucket with less that ten seconds to go to give the Bearcats a 65-64 win in the conference opener for both teams.

Watkins, one of the Bearcats super freshmen, nailed a lay-up with less than ten seconds to go in the game to give Binghamton the home court decision.  Watkins ended up with 15 points.  Binghamton's other freshman standout, Jasmine Sina, scored 19 points.  Junior Kim Albrecht led all scorers with 20 tallies.

The Bearcats will find out just how far they have come under new coach Linda Cimino when they travel to Hartford to play one of the premier teams in the conference, the Hawks, Tuesday, January 6 at 7 p.m.  Tim Heiman calls the action on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
