It was a good night for the Binghamton University women's basketball team as they defeated the Hartford Hawks 55-51 at the Events Center.  The victory puts Binghamton's season record at 5-23 and 2-13 in the America East.  Hartord falls to 11-17 and 8-7 in conference action.

Vaneeshia Paulk paced all scorers with 24 points...a career high.  Paulk hit all five of her three-point shots.  Morgan Murphy grabbed 11 rebounds for the Bearcats while Sherae Swinson scored eight points and finished with eight rebounds.  Kandace Newry also had a big game for the Bearcats with eight points and six rebounds.

Binghamton has one regular season game to play. That will be on Saturday at 2 PM at the Events Center when UMBC visits.  A Bearcat win would elevate Binghamton to seventh place and a battle versus Stony Brook or New Hampshire in the opening round of the upcoming America East Tournament.  A Bearcat loss would mean Binghamton would face the regular season champion Albany Great Dames.
