The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team battled back from a 32-25 halftime deficit to go ahead by one with 13 seconds to play but clutch free throws from Andrew Smeathers clinched a one-point victory for Mount St. Mary's.  Binghamton's Willie Rodriguez had a pair of free throw makes to give his team a 68-67 lead but a foul called on Justin McFadden with just three seconds remaining sent Smeathers to the foul line in a one and one situation and he made both attempts to ice the win.  Binghamton's Yosef Yacob got off a 45-foot shot at the buzzer but it hit the front of the rim and The Mount earned the win.

Binghamton was led in scoring by freshman Willie Rodriguez with 25 points and fellow freshman Dusan Perovic with 15.  Mount St. Mary''s had three players in double figures.

The win puts the Mountaineers record at 4-6 while BU falls to 1-13.  Binghamton is idle until next Tuesday when the Bearcats host the University at Buffalo at 7 PM at the Events Center.
