The Binghamton Bearcats swept a doubleheader from the Hartford Hawks yesterday at the Bearcats Sports Complex.  In the first game BU trailed 2-0 going into the fifth inning but Daniel Nevares doubled in three runs to give the Bearcats a win.  Jake Lambert earned the win in a complete game effort.

In the second game the teams battled into the tenth inning.  Maine-Endwell grad Brian Ruby tied the game with a sacrifice fly that plated Jake Thomas.  Then Nick Pancerella lashed a hard hit ground ball which handcuffed the third baseman who was unable to make the throw to first base quickly enough for an out.  That gave the Bearcats a 6-5 decision.

The sweep puts BU's America East record at 12-10.  The Hawks and Bearcats wrap-up the three game series today beginning at noon at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
