Two Binghamton University Track & Field are heading to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Oregon June 10-13.  Senior middle distance runner Jesse Garn and sophomore jumper Keishorea Armstrong qualified for a chance at a national championship with outstanding performances at the East Regional at the University of North Florida.

Garn posted the seventh-fastest time in the finals of the 800 at 1:47:21.  Armstrong placed sixth overall in the women's long jump at 20-0 1/2.

Garn is the third Binghamton Bearcat male athlete to advance to the NCAA Championships.  Rory Quiller qualified in the pole vault in 2006 and 2007.  Erik van Ingen advanced in the 1,500 in 2011 and 2012.  Quiller won the national championship in 2008.  Van Ingen earned All-America honors both times he competed in the National Championships.

Both athletes and coaches Mike Thompson and Annette Acuff depart for Oregon on Sunday. The initial events begin on Wednesday, June 10th.
