Bearcats Softball Takes Two in West Hartford

The Binghamton Bearcats softball team won a pair of games against the Hartford Hawks in West Hartford.  BU topped the Hawks 10-2 in the opener and 8-0 in the nightcap.  The wins up the Bearcats record in America East play to 3-2 and overall to 13-12.

Designated hitter Tia Smith and third baseman Crysti Eichner each drove in five runs.  Smith, a freshman, slugged her first home run as a Bearcat.and scored three runs.  Eichner banged out three hits.  Outfielder Sydney Harbaugh had a 3-7 day at the plate while catcher Lisa Cadogan went 2-6 with three runs batted in.

The Bearcats are scheduled to host Syracuse in a doubleheader April 8 at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
