The Binghamton Bearcats softball team clobbered visiting Niagara University Thursday with wins of 13-0 and 15-1 to push their winning streak to eight games.  With the wins Binghamton stands at 16-9 and 3-0 in America East.  The Bearcats travel to UMBC for three games this weekend beginning with a doubleheader Saturday.

In Thursday's first win over Niagara sophomore pitcher Sarah Miller fired BU's first no-hitter since 2009.  A pair of sophomores smacked two home runs apiece.  Third basemen Kate Richard and outfielder Jessica Rutherford both hit two blasts out of the park.

In the second game Makenzie Goluba upped her season record to 3-0.  The Bearcats jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first inning and rolled to the win. Union-Endicott grad Griffin McIver has hit five home runs in the past seven games and Rutherford leads America East with a .465 batting average and 26 runs batted in.
